Taylor on 07/29/2010i'm not a pro photographer, far from it. i have gotten to the point where i can use the P and M settings on my T1i, but the one glaring problem i've had is with indoor photos when it's dark. the flash on the Speedlite 270EX Flash Light always makes the subject too light and the background isn't really there. this flash is perfect for me because there's no setting on the Speedlite 270EX Flash Light - just attach it and use the Speedlite 270EX Flash Light as always, and the Speedlite 270EX Flash Light figures out how to use the flash. the angling of the flash to bounce off the ceiling is exactly what i was looking for - it lights up the subject and the background so you can't tell it was shot with a flash. and it's very small so easy to fit in my Speedlite 270EX Flash Light bag. only thing i would have preferred is a rechargeable battery.

Submited By: Elizabeth L. Dilliplane on 08/03/2010I purchased this due to the recent need of a bit more flash for doing portraits. I have the Canon 40D with built in flash - it just not adequate for the light levels I use This is perfect for what I needed - just the right amount of flash to light the subjects faces in a softly lit situation. I also love the way I can point the flash up and bounce the light. It is light weight - easy to install at a moments notice, it's the perfect addition to my Canon equiptment - I mostly do evening and dusk shooting of landscapes - this fills in and highlights the foreground areas perfectly.
I really enjoy the flexability it has added to my creativity.

The other aspects I liked:
It's simple and yet you can choose to cover the viewing angle of a 24 or a 50mm lens by just pulling on the front. That's intuitive.
The flash can be pointed to the ceiling, in a simple way.
Its recycle time is short and I dont hear any hiss.
It only takes two AA batteries.
It's very small.
I use this with a 5D mark II.
I dont spend forever wondering if I have configured it right. It just works.
